Part of a good breakfast?

What were they thinking?

I knew that giraffes fought by swinging their heads, but never really appreciated the shear force of their attacks until seeing this video.

Absolutely, fascinating.

Some videos need no introduction.

How anyone can get so worked up is beyond me. My favorite line:
“Leave Britney Spears alone. Right NOW! I mean it. Anyone who has a problem with her, you deal with me.”

Notice how many times a good heap’n throat full of snot is gulped back while crying?

Extra points, if you know whether the gender is male or female.

Five years ago, June 2002, I was looking at the new Volkswagen Beetle. Saw an area about contacting them about the new Beetle. For fun, I decided to ask them if the new Beetles counted in the Punch Bug Game.

The other day I saw a silver Volkswagen Beetle and so I punched my friend John and said, “Punch Bug, silver, no punch backs”.

He said, “The new Beetles don’t count for punch bugs, only the old beetles count.” I think he’s wrong.

Do the new beetles count for punch bugs?

I have always liked Wil Wheaton. I loved the movie Stand by Me.

Wil currently is a writer, does a lot of voice work, is an avid Poker Player and Gamer. He blogs regularly at www.wilwheaton.typepad.com

Recently he was a keynote speaker at PAX Penny Arcade Expo, an exposition for video games and Gamers.

His keynote address was terrific, about an hour long. Gamers from all generations will recognise his references to games and consoles from every era. He has some strong opinions about anti-video game advocates. He can also be pretty raw at times so younger viewers make sure your parents aren’t around when listening. This is not the Wesley Crusher, you grew up with.

Oh yeah, Wil says, “Don’t be a dick”

While cottaging, my laptop picked up an unsecured wireless access point, named “Bob”. I have no idea where it is. The signal is very weak, and often intermittent, but I can get to the net.

I wonder if those who have unsecured WAP, don’t know how to secure them, don’t care, or if it is a deliberate attempt to share their wireless.

The proof!

Went to see 1408. I really liked it. It’s a Stephen King short story within Everything’s Eventual. It’s about a writer who travels the country writing about haunted houses he stays in. He doesn’t believe in haunted houses, but that doesn’t matter to his readers.

And then he stays in room 1408. A typical Stephen King haunting.

After the movie we got talking about the shear number of King books and short stories that have been made into movies or mini-series.  Wiki lists about 90 conversions to some media. Sure, some of them are pure crap, and it’s a given that they rarely meet the quality of the book or short story. The guy’s contribution to the Hollywood is unparalleled. Some of them really are classics.
